Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, overcome plateaus, or get some extra eyes on your form, this is your chance to learn advanced strategies directly from the experts. Get the tools you need to build on your foundation and push your strength goals even further.

Refine your technique and get comfortable working with the barbell with hands-on coaching from Coach Sohee and Coach Rachel in an intimate setting in Northern Orange County, California.

WHO: All intermediate lifters 18+. This means you’ve been resistance training for a minimum of 6 months and have at least some experience using barbells for the squat, deadlift, and bench press. Must be familiar with movement patterns such as the hip hinge, squat, and push-up. 

WHAT: Coaches Sohee and Rachel will teach and coach you on the deadlift, squat, bench press, row, and military press exercises. 

WHERE: Northern Orange County, California (exact address will be given upon signup closer to the date of the workshop).

How do I know if I qualify as an intermediate lifter?

To qualify as an intermediate lifter for this event, you should have a minimum of 6 months of consistent strength training. You should also have some experience incorporating barbell work into your training for exercises (e.g. squats, deadlifts, and bench press). Alternatively, you’re ready for this workshop if you’ve attended Sohee’s beginner’s lifting workshop. 

If you’re unsure whether you meet the criteria, feel free to email Coach Rachel at rachel@eltmethod.com with your most recent bench press, squat, and deadlift numbers before signing up.

What should I wear?
Please come in your lifting attire! Wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in. For shoes, we recommend thin-soled shoes, or you can lift in socks only.

Are there showers at the venue?
No, there is a bathroom at the venue, but no shower. We recommend bringing your own towel.

Is there food provided?
As this is a short event, no food will be provided. There will be some water bottles available, but please bring your own snacks and fluids! We strongly recommend bringing a high-carb snack (such as two bananas) to consume during the workout. 

Will I get 1-on-1 private instruction from Sohee?
Any coaching you receive will be done in the group setting. Coaches Sohee and Rachel will be there working with everyone both together and individually throughout the duration of the workshop.

I have an injury/movement restriction. Can I still attend?
You’ll be sent a short questionnaire before the workshop which will ask for this kind of information. We’ll do our best to work around any restrictions!

What’s the parking situation?
There is plenty of free parking! The venue is in an industrial park, so you will have no problem finding a parking spot.

What’s the cancellation policy?
You have until two (2) weeks before the event to cancel your spot for a full refund. Please send an email to rachel@eltmethod.com to request your refund by May 3, 2025. No refund will be provided if you cancel within two weeks of the event.
